APPLICATIONS
Typical applications are concrete, mortar, plaster, masonry products, paving, precast products, grouts, shotcrete, soil stabilization and other general home and DIY applications. SUREBUILD is a tried and tested product that has been engineered to achieve a consistent and appropriate performance. SUREBUILD is compatible with commercial chemical admixtures.
SPECIFICATIONS
SUREBUILD conforms to the 42,5 N strength class of SANS 50197-1 for common cements and, depending on source factory, is identified as one of:
- CEM II/A 42.5 N
- CEM II/B 42.5 N
“CEM II/A” denotes portland composite cement with an extender content between 6 and 20%
“CEM II/B” denotes portland composite cement with an extender content between 20 and 35%
“CEM III/A” denotes blastfurnace cement with a blastfurnace slag content between 35 and 65%
Extenders used in the manufacture of SUREBUILD include limestone (denoted “L”), fly ash (denoted “V”), and blastfurnace slag (denoted “S”). Blends of two or more of the above extenders are denoted “M”.
STORAGE OF BAGGED CEMENT
- Cement should be stored in a weatherproof shed or container
- It should be closely packed, away from doors and windows
- It should be packed off the floor, and on plastic
- It should be covered with a plastic sheet or tarpaulin
- It should be stored so as to ensure “first in – first out” use
SAFETY
- Do not stack bags more than 12 units high
- Do not stack more than two pallets high
- Pick up bags correctly to avoid injury
- Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Cement and cement paste are highly alkaline and chemical burns may occur
